Workshop with Dionne Swift May 2013
Just days after running a workshop for the guild, Dionne Swift has deservedly been selected as a finalist in the Craft and Design awards 2013.Dionne taught us screen printing - beginning with positive and negative ideas, overprinting with a background cover using procion dyes. Hard edges were replaced by organic and naturalistic designs, with excellent teaching from Dionne. Later in the day we experimented with 'manutex monoprinting' to create painterley liberated designs on fabric.
Everyone managed to avoid dye on the carpet! Many thanks to Dionne - an excellent day was had by all and we hope to see some stitched up samples at a guild meeting near you soon.
