5th December meeting 2013

All that Glitters - Thursday 5 December 2013 We're going to go overboard using bling in embroidery. This will link into the Regional Day competition. We're organising a mini workshop with nibbles. Could you bring sewing scissors fine needles or beading needles if you have these (we will buy a few) (if you are going to use seed beads of the type sold by Mill Hill you will certainly need a beading needle) a small saucer/lid for holding beads etc. (if you can put a piece of felt in it, even better) a bag (without holes) to take home beads and sequins to complete the project at home. beads – the Guild will provide a small selection but not enough for everyone to complete their project so could you bring some from your stash. Optional things to bring sequins and any other embroidery “bling” that you have and might want to use (we will buy sequins for the workshop to supplement what Guild members are donating) thimble (if you use one) if you prefer sewing in a frame, we will be using 6 inch squares of felt if you prefer sewing with backing fabric, backing fabric suitable for use with 6 inch felt squares. If you have any completed embroidery (your own or purchased) using beads or sequins or real/artificial stones or bling, could you bring it so that we have a small display of work to give members ideas for their own future work. Also if you've any books showing beads and sequins being used, could you bring them for members to look at.
